It’s autumn and everything seems to be losing colours. Whether it’s the leaves or the weather in general, the colours seem to be getting a bit dull these days.

Being on the other side of 30, know what it means about losing colour. I have some grey on my head here and there and I have been colouring my hair for quite some time now. From global to highlights to ombre, I have tried almost all. Ammonia, no ammonia, In-salon, home kits… almost everything.

Off late, I have been trying out several new hair colour brands, especially those which to be claim no-ammonia and fit in everyone's budget. And in this search entered B-Blunt. Now I know almost everyone knows about this brand. Helmed by Adhuna Bhabani, ace Bollywood stylist and owner of BBlunt Chain of salons, this is one of the most promising brands in India. They have a range of hair care products from shampoos to conditioners to styling products. And recently, they launched their hair colour, Salon Secret High Shine Hair Colour.

Now the colour comes with lot of claims. Firstly, it is ammonia free which is good. Currently, it is available at an intro price which is affordable.  And the most intriguing this… it comes with a new add on called the Shine Tonic which is said to be a revolutionary product that brings in loads of shine. When I got a chance to try this, I chose the shade Wine which is a deep burgundy.

On the Outside

I love the packaging. A nice blue metal glossy packaging that has a model’s face on the front depicting the hair colour and all the details on all the sides. No details have actually been left, including the brand’s thought. Inside, you can see a paper case to firmly hold the tubes of developer, colourant, shine tonic and a pair of gloves alongwith the instruction manual. All the products are in a squeezy tube which is good since it gives control over the quantity and you can use the entire contents. The tubes also have markings in case you want to go for full head colour or just a root touch up. Good packaging indeed. Loved it.

On the Inside

I had really high hopes with this colour as it comes from BBlunt. And I must say that I wasn’t disappointed at all. The developer and the colourant are in a paste like form, no drip formula. The shine tonic is a clear liquid like glycerin. When mixed together, they are really easy to apply and don’t drip at all. I kept the colour for 45 minutes (the red based colours Wine and Mahogany are to be kept for 45 minutes, while the remaining for 30 minutes).

When I washed it off after 45 minutes, I was astonished at the results. Unlike the other hair colours which leave my hair dry without conditioner, this one did not. I washed my hair with a colour pro shampoo and hair mask. And my hair was really soft.

But the real magic was only seen after the hair got dried. I air dried my hair and could notice not just a nice deep reddish tinge, but loads of shine. YES! The shine tonic works. My hair looked very shiny and healthy. Check the clicks for the proof J
