"I don't want to own anything until I find a place where me & things go together.... I'm not sure where that is but I know what it is like...
It's like Tiffany's..."   - Breakfast at Tiffany's

Hello my lovelies.....
These lines are from the Hollywood classic, 'Breakfast at Tiffany's." Although it is a romantic movie, food does play a role in the storyline. The classic made Audrey Hepburn a legend and it is definitely one of my favourite movies.

Anyways, the other day I was chatting with a foodie friend of mine. He alongwith his mates has been travelling across different destinations just to enjoy one good meal. They love calling themselves food travellers and love to travel for their love for food. He asked me about some good breakfast options in Lucknow and that is what stuck me. An exclusive Breakfast series on PEL., focusing on this first meal of the day...

So, here's presenting the first edition of #BreakfastTrails,

Amazing breakfast with a view to die for at Renaissance from Marriott

As most of you know, the Marriott Group has two awesome properties in Lucknow city - Renaissance and Fairfield by Marriott. And both are amazing in terms of hospitality and food. So when me and bestie decided to start the series, our first destination was L-14 Restaurant at Renaissance. Situated in Gomti Nagar area, the property is surrounded by some amazing green view and this is what you get when you dine at L-14. The restaurant is situated at the 14th floor and when you dine here, not only the food but even the view mesmerizes you.

The restaurant offers an amazing fare. It has a menu which boasts of a heady mix of American, English, Continental and Indian Breakfast options. Director (Culinary) Sandeep Pande feels proud in telling us that L-14 has a no- white sugar menu. "Here, the sweetness is either through honey, fruit syrups or brown sugar," he tells us. However, for the hardcore white sugar fans, you can always have your pick.

View from the L-14 restaurant

While the buffet, priced at INR 650 (exclusive taxes) is a wholesome in itself, one can also order from the ala carte. Here are a few options worth mentioning - Bhurji Paav from the Indian menu (you can even savour the everyday favourite poori bhaji and parantha), Khajur Pancake with Mewa Rabdi (An inspired pancake stuffed with date pudding, topped with dry fruit milk custard), Inspired Egg Benedict Galawati (Poached farm raised country eggs served on lamb kebab topped with masala hollandaise... truly Awadh meets the West), Croissants, Waffles served with Maple Syrup & Cream, also berries and corn syrup (I can vouch for them... the best in the city for sure). Check these pix :

Croissants

Vegetable Quinche

Granola Parfait

Potli Samosas

For those who are diet conscious, the restaurant also offers 10 to 12 types of fresh fruits. The fruit counter looks really enticing and one can't help but surely take a helping for sure.

We tried the Eggs Benedict, Baked Beans with Toast and Fresh Waffles with the toppings. While bestie loved the Eggs Benedict and called it 'PERRRRFECT', for me the waffles made my day. The right crunch, and awesome toppings.... what could you ask for more.

Toast with Baked Beans

Waffles with syrup

The waffles deserve another shot...
The restaurant also offers a host of beverages. From fresh fruit juices to masala chai to Coffee, they have it all. They used Lavazza beans for their coffees, which makes the taste stand out. They also have a bread basket from an assortment to choose from and also, fresh oven baked fruit cakes and cookies for accompaniments with your beverages. I opted for coffee, whereas my friend trusted his chai....

Caught with my coffee.... :-)

Director Culinary Sandeep Pande with his team

After this awesome breakfast, we were taken around the beautiful property by Director (Sales & Marketing) Praveen Sharma. They have an amazing rooftop pool and a bar which looks amazing during the day and spectacular at night.

Since it was a breakfast date, I decided to follow the movie. I couldn't wear a black dress aka Audrey Hepburn but instead chose this black and red number which is perfect for a curvy girl like me. You can notice the knee cap, as I had recently met with an accident. For makeup, the classic Red lips (MAC Russian Red) and winged eyes (MAC Blacktrack fluidline) with a black bag and black flats. Tied my hair in a low twisted bun as it was really humid.

Some more clicks of moi....

Me with you know what....
