Hello my beauties
How are you guys bearing with the heat? Sorry for being away all last week. I had met with a minor accident and was completely bed ridden all last week. There is a minor injury in my left knee ligament and it is really painful. But thankfully, after a week's rest I am up and working again.
Summer's are always a nightmare when it comes to skin and hair. Be it dry skin or oily, dry rough hair or oily scalp, everyone goes through some or the other sob story. And over the years, I have found some simple options and ways through which I can indeed make their sob stories turn into happy stories.
Aloevera gel is one of the best ingredients for summers. Be it the natural one which we take from the plant or the ones readily available in the market, they all are a big help. And in the words that follow, you will find some awesome D-I-Y options to sail through summers beautifully. I have used Patanjali Aloevera Gel for these, but I substitute it with real gel at times too. You can use any aloe gel which you like.

Patanjali Aloevera Gel
D-I-Y for skin
1. For sunburn : wash your face with mild cleanser or face wash. Add a spoon of aloe vera gel with a spoon of curd or if you have dry skin, with milk powder. Apply to the face in a thick layer. Wash your face after 20 minutes. This will soothe your skin and also, take care of the tan.
2. For summer breakouts : Take a spoon of aloe vera gel, add two pinches of cinnamon powder and make a paste. Apply it to the breakouts at night. You may feel a tingle initially. In the morning, wash your face. You will see a drastic reduction in the redness sans dry, peeling skin.
3. For skin rash or dryness - This is a major problem for dry skin beauties. Add a spoon of aloe vera gel with milk cream or a spoon of coconut oil with a drop of lavender essential oil. Apply at night and sleep. This will improve your skin tone, heal the rashes and also, remove all dry patches.
4. For post threading or hair removal care : Not only summers mean more open pores, specially post hair removal, but also sweat which may accumulate in those pores. Always keep your aloe gel with you and post removal, apply a little gel and massage.
D-I-Y for Hair
1. For super dry hair : Add three tablespoons of aloevera gel, 1 tea spoon of honey, 3 table spoons of curd and 1 table spoon of olive oil. You can add any essential oil as well. Apply this to your scalp and hair and leave on for 30 to 45 minutes. Wash your hair with a mild shampoo.
2. For summer flakiness: Three table spoons of aloe vera gel, one table spoon pure camphor powder and 1 juice of a lemon. Apply this paste to your scalp and massage well. Shampoo after 30 minutes for lesser flakes and fresh feeling scalp.
3. For oily hair or scalp - Add a few drops of tea tree or cederwood essential oil with aloevera gel and apply to scalp and hair. You hair will feel less oily post the wash and have a nice bounce to them as well.
