Hola chicas…
Colours play such important role in our lives na?
When we see bright colours or our favourite colours, we feel very happy. Dull colours can spoil our mood and can make us feel low... :-)

Now that we are talking about colours, how can we leave hair colours out? Being on the other side of 30, hair colour is something which has become my good friend. Now ofcourse I want to age gracefully and all that blah blah, but I don't mind colouring my hair. And with so many options around, I just want to add some more spice to my life with these hair colours.... :-)

Off late, I have been trying out several new hair colour brands, specially those claim no-ammonia and fit in everyone's budget. And in this quest, I got an opportunity to try this new hair colour from a brand called Prem henna. I could recall the brand since I have used their henna, Nisha, for some time to condition my hair. Also, I have seen their henna cones being used for hand application frequently.

I was initially a bit skeptical about trying their hair colour since their expertise is Henna, but gave in... And finally, this is what I have to say....

Presenting my deets on

On the Outside
I have dark brown hair with rust red ombre. So I chose the burgundy and chocolate brown as a mixture of the two not only gives a lovely colour to my hair, but also adds lovely highlights to my ombre. I must say that despite being an Indian brand, the packaging of Enega looks quite international kinds. The box, which has a curved top, is of the same shade as the colour inside. It has all the details mentioned and looks quite lovely. The text can also be read easily. Full marks to the packaging.

On the Inside
My expectations weren't too high with the colour as I opened the package. But I must say that I was quite surprised to see the contents. The package contains hair colour (in a aluminium squeeze tube) and developer (in a plastic bottle), apart from a brush, a pair of gloves and a conditioner pouch.
Most of the bigger brands, in their budget hair colours, give colour and developer in sachets which cannot be reused if anything is left. But this isn't the case with Enega. Since I need 1 + 3/4 package, I had some left and I was happy to keep it to touch up the roots. The colour claims to have green tea extract and argan oil and smells strong... a bit like argan oil serums. When mixed with the developer, it becomes a runny kind of a paste. But as soon as you apply it on your hair, it become thick and does not bleed. The colour did not irritate or itch (although sensitivity test is recommended) neither did the smell irritate my nose.
When I washed it off after 30 minutes, my hair felt a little dry. I used the conditioner provided and was really surprised as it made my hair super smooth and very shiny. Infact, the shine was incredible. Love the results.

THUMBS UP FOR
A decent product from an Indian Brand.
- Does not contain ammonia.
- Is quite affordable.
- Wonderful packaging.
- Covers greys well.
- The conditioner makes the hair soft and shiny.

THUMBS DOWN FOR
- Quantity is too less for single use. They should have bigger packs.
- Without condioner, hair looks a bit dry.

PEL SHOUTS
"The Enega Brilliance Creme Hair Colour is a decent budget hair colour which claims to have argan oil and no ammonia formula. It covers greys well, does not irritate the scalp and has nice glossy colour. The conditioner leaves the hair quite smooth too. If you are looking for a good quality budget hair colour, this can be your safe bet for sure...."
