"Your life does not get better by chance...
It gets better by change... "
- Jim Rohn

Hey my lovelies,

So it's finally winters..... Yeah! Although its still warm during the day but evenings and nights can surely make us feel the nip in the air. Time to give our wardrobes, and also our lives a lot of change... Change for good, change for some positiveness...

For today's post, change holds a lot of meaning for us. From changing the outfit decided (last minutes changes but still looking good) to changing the location when we reached on the spot.... this post is all about changes. And above all, it is about changing our outlook on styling classic pieces in everyday lives.

You all must have seen my style-collab post with wonderful designer Paulami here, who makes awesome handbags and even fabric jewellery. The way Paulami gives a nice twist to heritage crafts is simply wonderful. And while we always feel that classic need special moments, Paulami's pieces are really easy to style in everyday life. Infact in this look, I styled a beautiful handbag and neckpiece (with awesome kantha embroidery) for an everyday college or office look.

Presenting to you the style post

This post shows the extension of brand Paulami beyond hand crafted bags. I had featured Paulami Saha Arora in O Womaniya, and I am truly impressed by her work. She has been giving a contemporary touch to classic handicrafts of India, making them apt to fuse in our daily lives and carry our beautiful heritage with prize. The earlier bag was a beautiful kantha embroidery bag from West Bengal, and this time, I styled a gorgeous aztec print bag with lovely wooden handles. The classic aspect of the bag comes in these handles, which reflect the famous Etikoppaka wood craft from Andhra Pradesh. Beautiful wooden carved handles with lacquer finish give this bag a different aura altogether. Here is a closer look of the bag...

On the outside, the bag is a beautiful black and white aztec print, with sunset yellow borders and inside. It is not as spacious as the earlier bag, but has a small pocket inside where you can keep knick knacks and mobile phone too.
This bag is awesome in a way that you can not only hold it with its beautiful carved handles, but also use it as a sling bag with strong fabric strings. It is interesting to see that while the craft is majorly used for making toys and showpieces, Paulami has beautifully incorporated it into these bags for everyday use.

Despite being a little small, it does have enough space for a small hairbrush, lip balm, kohl, wallet and some tissues. Just the bag you would like to take to college (if you like ethnic stuff) or your office. Infact, while styling this bag, I decided to sport a college kind of look with denims, basic short kurta and fringed stole. I seriously wish I would have known Paulami during my college years... these bags are so me :-)

And now, a bit about this super gorgeous neckpiece that makes the whole look so much more classy....

This is another classic by Paulami. This fabric bib necklace has lovely kantha work on it. The design is so pretty that I could not take my eyes off it. Five birds sitting on a string, beautifully hand embroidered. This neckpiece makes me feel in awe of the glorious craftsmanship of our country.
Such fine kantha work. Truly a masterpiece indeed.

I am totally in love with Paulami's collection. Her contemporary understanding and styling to classical handicrafts will surely infuse a new life into our dying crafts. We certainly need to support this marvelous endeavor and include these crafts, a pride of our nation, in our lives and appreciate our artisans.
