Hola chicas,
It's been ages since I did any JOTD or OOTD. Well, being a little curvy, I generally shy away from these. But yes, JOTDs are certainly a favourite with me. I feel they bring out the more feminine side of me ;-)
Anyways, I am sure lot of you must be aware about what Aura is... Well, I feel that the aura is our inner light that engulfs and envelops us with positivism and strength. Just like the sun, which every morning, promises to spread positive energies in the atmosphere.
Ever thought what can happen if these two positive energies comes together? This is what exactly happened in this JOTD shoot as well. The jewellery, a half-sun shaped brass pendant is from the fabulous collection of 'The Glitterbug', whose Anmol Shetty has been featured in O Womaniya here.
Presenting the latest JOTD
So when we were shooting, although we initially decided to shoot outside, but the sun was getting a bit too harsh for me to handle. Owing to the fact that we were shooting bare feet, it was really difficult for me to stand in the sun and get clicked. I could also barely keep my eyes open (Which is visible in a few clicks) because the winds were so hot and dry :-)
However, after a while my photographer friend suggested me to walk inside the beautiful gallery area. And then, the magic happened....
While walking through the gallery, my friend suddenly asked me to stop. The light has started filtering in and created a beautiful effect as I walked. It was something which is difficult to describe in words. Somehow, I felt as if a ray of positivity was engulfing me, caressing me and making me happy.
There was an amazing energy around me. And like magic, the crowd just vanished and there was no one to disturb us. Just that magic and our moods. And the neckpiece was just adding to those magical moments.
The main pendant, shaped like a half sun, is a dokra design made in brass. It has this beautiful tribal look to it that so very ethnic. Also, the sun shape seems to give a lot of energy. It has been beautifully handcrafted in greyish blue beads with small earrings to match.
What I love about this pendant is that it isn't too dressy and can be worn with everyday outfit. And that is something which goes with all jewellery by The Glitterbug. So I teamed it with a Lakhnawi chikan embroidery kurta, Fabindia churidaar and thrifted dupatta. Just light and breezy for summers, like the jewelry.
Here are some more clicks which I really love, specially those in monochrome :
Outfit :
Kurta : Lucknow Chowk market
Churidaar : FabIndia
Dupatta : Lajpat Nagar Market, New Delhi
Jewelry : The Glitterbug (Checkout their FB store here )
I decided to keep the makeup natural as this is a simple, summer day look.
Makeup :
Loreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder Foundation in Natural Beige
MAC Blush in Melba
ELF eyeshadows in Rose Gold and Natural blush
Maybelline Colossal Eye Liner
Faces Ultime Pro Lip Cream in Nude Mojito.

We decided to shoot this one at a beautiful monument in Lucknow, the Bada Imambara. A prayer monument, it is an architectural marvel in itself with marvellous windows and jharokhas that beautifully pour light inside the building. And this game of light and shade looks awesome in summers, specially during the late evening hours.

Hey Tarry! This is the first time I read your JOTD post. I can understand how bad and disturbing it would be to face those harsh and hot winds while getting clicked.
ReplyDeleteLoved how you have combined OOTD with JOTD :-) Very much liked your Lucknowi styled kurta and the half-sun shaped jewellery too !
Hey Vishakha...

Such a pretty neckpiece Tarry... elegant and kinda understated... loved that it is paired with pastel grey beads and not bright ones... makes the pendent the hero :)
ReplyDeleteYeah Anks... definitely the pendant is the hero here. I just love the neckpiece... BTW, stay tuned because we are gonna overflood with JOTDs soon :-)
