Hit or Miss with Lakme Lip Love Lip Care Lip Balm in Strawberry

By Tarry

Hi my sweeties...
How was the weekend for you girls! Well, my weekend was a mixed bag. Monday too did not start on an awesome note... But theek hai yaar... that's how Monday morning blues are :-(

Summers are here now, and we start stocking stuff that boasts of sun protection or SPF. Recently, I won a giveaway on dear Bhumika's blog and got two Lakme lip love care tinted lip balms. Since they boasted of SPF and are from a brand like Lakme, they looked quite promising indeed.

Well, its been quite some time since me and my younger sis have been using them and feel that it is just the right time to review or tell my opinion on them.

So, here's presenting to you,

 On the Outside
I have never ever disliked Lakme for its packaging. It always comes in a decent or a classy packaging. But this time, Lakme, you have missed it. The packaging is not good at all. Nothing cute or classy about it. Infact, the cap is very flimsy and weak. I accidentally dropped my lip balm and the cap cracked. Really, very very poor packaging and that too at this price point! Not done!

On the Inside
On the first look, I realised that the Lakme Lip Love Lip Care Lip Balm (what a tongue twisting name eh!) looks so much like the Elle 18 lipsticks that come with a balmy core.... Yes! No thoughts have gone in designing. However, that costs way less than this one and is much more pigmented. This one too has a balmy core. Hey Hey Hey! wait! If the balmy core is only moisturising, what about the rest of it? Well, the texture is fine only if you are applying it once. But if you like to apply it more than one swipe, they cast a waxy layer. Hmmmm....  The only good point is SPF 15.

Thumbs up for
-  A product from a reputed brand like Lakme.
-  A nice smelling lip balm with light tint.
Does keep the lips moisturised for around 2 to 3 hours.
- The SPF 15 can be good for summers.
Easily available.

 Thumbs down for
-  Is pricier than many other better lip balms available.
- Very bad packaging :-p
- Looks a lot like Elle 18 lipstick, which is more pigmented and lesser priced.

PEL Rating
3.9 out of 5.

PEL SHOUTS
The Lakme Lip Love Lip Care Lip Balm in strawberry has SPF 15 which is good for summers. But at its price, you expect a lot more than just SPF. Try it if you want a change in your lip balms.
