L'Oreal Paris Kajal Magique - a love affair that's truly magical
By Tarry
“….Every time she looked at me,
there was something magical that held me completely captivated
what was it? was it the depth in her eyes, the moistness,
or just that stark black kohl that held her beautiful eyes captive…”

Ok... so you guys have already had a glimpse of my fiction piece earlier. This is another set of lines from it. Btw, I just feel that by the time the piece ends, you all will already have read most of its lines...
Do give me your feedback on this for sure. A special thanks to dear Richa of Coral with blues for being the first one to comment on them :-)

We Indian girls are blessed with beautiful eyes. Be it big, small, almond shaped, doe shaped, droopy... whatever the shape be, they are immensely beautiful. And the kajal or kohl has always enhanced them. I have been using kajal since time immortal. Infact on days when I use coloured liners, I do add that special touch by using kajal on my waterline.
The product I am reviewing today is very special for me. Special not because of what it is, but special because of the story behind it. The other day my bestie was here from Delhi just to celebrate my birthday in advance. But since it was Sunday, I went to meet him without any makeup, even kajal. While talking to me, he just said, "Why are your eyes bare? Tuney kajal nahin lagaya si?" I was like it's ok. But he immediately took me to Shoppers Stop and got me this kajal. And what more, he also insisted that I use it then and there :-) "Ankhiyan nu nazar lag jaiyegi, Use kajal always..." was his logic :-) Sweet na ...
Presenting to you my dear ladies,
Presenting to you my dear ladies,
The L'Oreal Paris Kajal Magique.
WHAT THE PRODUCT CLAIMS :
Get over ordinary kajals. L'Oreal Kajal magique - the queen of kajals, has arrived. Step into the spotlight and let your eyes do the talking.
PRICE:
Rs.245 (priciest of the category... Maybelline and Lakme are little cheaper)
All Loreal counters and even online on Nykaa.com
ON THE OUTSIDE :
The L'Oreal Kajal Magique is one of the most beautiful packaging in its category. Sleek black packaging with a hot pink band and lettering. Also, the cap fits well so it good for travelling as well. The packaging is quite sturdy and classy. L'Oreal scores higher over here.
Ok. So does the Magique really work? Does it score over the Colossals and the Eyeconics? Well, not over the Colossal. But yes, over the eyeconic a little bit. The kajal comes in a retractable form and the mechanism is superb. So no breaking in between ... :-) The texture is a little between the colossal and eyeconic. So not very creamy, but not very hard either. It does take a little time to apply in the first time, but after a few uses, it glides like magic and gives the finish of a matte gel liner indeed. Keep it near a candle flame for three seconds and this will make your best matte liner. On the lids, it stays for some 7 to 8 hours with minimal fading, but on the waterline, it starts fading after three hours and then, vanishes after 5 hours. Still, the eyes don't look absolutely bare. Pigmentation wise too, it isn't one of the blackest blacks, but perfect for everyday use.
THUMBS UP FOR :
- Lovely packaging.
- Easy availability.
- Good texture, smooth to use, no tugging.
- - The staying power is impressive.. I got some 7 to 8 hours with minimal fading.
- Waterproof and smudgeproof.
THUMBS DOWN FOR :
- One of the costliest in its category.
- Not the blackest of blacks. Not too high on pigmentation.

PEL SHOUTS :
The L'Oreal Kajal Magique may not be a stark black kajal for those deep, dark, mystical eyes. But it has that right amount of drama to create that special magic in your eyes. For me, it's a love affair that's truly magical...
