L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Moist Matte in Raspberry Syrup : Review, Swatches and LOTD

 Heya Lovelies,

What do you call a colour that’s all pink and a little red, is so juicy that it can actually drip ( … ;-) …) and just makes you feel all happy and joyful… ???

My answer would be raspberry. Be it the fruit or the colour, I just love raspberry. From syrups to lipsticks, Raspberry is something that makes me drool (next only to chocolate)… Ok Ok Ok! Before I make you  say those ‘oohs and aahs’ for my raspberry love, let me move one.

When Loreal launched their Moist Matte range of lipsticks, I thought well atleast I should try one. After all, everyone was going ga ga over them since they are not eternally drying mattes. I

 have Ruby Woo and know what unforgiving mattes can be.  L

After looking at swatches and reading reviews, I zeroed in on two colours : Lincoln Rose and Raspberry Syrup. And then, I checked out Shalini of Be beautilicious’ swatches. I generally refer to her and Ritu of the Indian Beauty Blog , as my complexion is just a tad bit lighter to them. Both these ladies are superbly and gorgeously beautiful.  

And how can I forget my Miss Luscious Lips Lisha of Heart, bows and makeup. She has the most awesome lips I can think of…

Finally, I decided on Raspberry syrup as ofcourse, the name has raspberry in it J But everytime I went to the store I found it OOS… L But luck showered on me and I finally managed to get it from a blog sale… J

I am madly in love with this colour and girls, trust me I can go on and on for it. But in all sanity, here’s presenting the

On the outside :

The packaging is quite classy I must say. Rose Gold square outer case that has a small square with the lipstick colour peeking through it. The cap has a nice monogram, the bottom shade name and overall, quite a classy case.  Looks worth the amount you are shelling out for it. Also, the cap shuts tightly so no chances of any damage. However, since the lipstick is quite creamy and has a tendency to break, prefer keeping it straight up whenever you are travelling or keep it in the fridge.

On the inside :

AAH! Can I sing? Can I dance? No wait… I have to write …

Raspberry Syrup is lovely raspberry pink with warm undertones. It is not a colour that’s too bold or calls for attention … For the fairer beauties, it does grab attention but medium and dusky women can super rock it. It is indeed very flattering on warm skin tones. The texture is super awesome too. Velvetty matte, its easy to use, easy to glide on the lips and does make your lips feel soft. Doesn’t dry lips although I always prefer to prep with a lip balm. The colour is well pigmented with just one stroke making your lips look awesome. Two would be needed if you want a longer wear. The staying power is awesome too. On my lips, it stays for some 6 hours after which there is a nice stain that goes off only with baby oil.

-          Lovely shade that almost will suit all complexions and instantly brightens.

-          Super awesome texture, very creamy and glides easily.

-          Awesome staying power, specially for someone who is looking for long wear colour.

-          Does not make lips feel sticky or heavy or dry.

-          Beautiful and classy packaging.

-          Price indeed (atleast Rs 150 lesser it should have been)

-          The product seems to be made in China… WHY WHY WHY!!
