Biotique White Advance Fairness Treatment – Review, Swatch

By Tarry

Row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream,
merrily merrily, merrily, merrily… Life is but a dream

Ha Ha Ha ! You must be thinking why I am remembering this nursery rhyme. Read it on a friend’s status and just loved it. Isn’t life just a dream…  Agreed sometimes these dreams are nightmares, but then, we all should continue dreaming. I have dreams too… And I have lived some of them.
So when times are tough, I just look back and feel happy that I managed to live some dreams for real. How many of you have actually held hands and sung aloud your favourite songs amidst the mountains in dead of the night? I have…. Sounds silly… but atleast it gave me a beautiful memory J

Ok, coming back to this world now. I am always on a lookout for products that can get an even skin tone. No please, do not confuse it with fairness. I am a little wheatish to dusky complexion and I absolutely love it. But then, who doesn’t like an even skin tone. So when I was on a search for a day cream with similar effects, I chanced upon this Biotique one.
Now I have had a love-hate kinda relationship with Biotique. While some of their products work awesome for me, others are just ‘Meh’!  Was indeed a bit skeptical of picking it up but finally did and have been using it since last one month.

So presenting to you my ladies is the

Biotique White Advance Fairness Treatment

On the outside :
Well... this is a new Biotique packaging. Unlike the earlier green tubs and white bottles with green caps, this is a tube packaging. White base packaging with a green flip open cap. Colours like peach and pink used on the base, which is quite appealing and not eye-soaring types. Overall, am impressed with this packing. The tube is housed in a hardpaper box which is sturdy and uses similar colour arrangements. All the details have been mentioned both on the tube and the box.

Biotique White Advance Fairness Treatment

On the inside :
The treatment is basically a cream that is a bit pearly white in colour with a peachish undertone. It spreads quite easily and does not leave any whitish cast on the skin. It claims to be for all skin types but on my oily-combi skin, it does not control oil. But it does not make it uncomfortably oily as well. Those with normal skin would love it and those with dry skin may need a light moisturizer. Often I use this at night instead of a moisturizer and it makes me wake up with supple skin. On days when I don’t wish to use BB/CC creams and am not looking for any kind of coverage, this works fine with a sunscreen underneath. After three weeks of use, it has given me a bit of even skin tone that has a nice glow to it. And no, it hasn’t added any whiteness to my skin, but that was not something I was looking at. The only major drawback is the weird smell. It smells like the Biotique fruit pack and the smell stays for some 15 to 20 minutes, but vanishes post that.

Thumbs up for :

-          Affordable, in budget buy category.
-          Easily available, even on grocery stores.
-          Does manage to give an even skin tone.
-          Can be used as a normal face cream, sans any SPF.
-          Does not break out the skin.
-          Skin looks more supple when used at night.

Thumbs down for :

-          Those looking for fairness and whitening will be disappointed.
-          The smell is really weird and sensitive noses will have a bad time.
-          Not suitable much for oily skin, although it doesn’t cause breakouts.

PEL Shouts :

I would say that the Biotique White Advance Fairness Treatment is a very basic kind of a cream and would fit in the bill if you are looking for a budget product that’s not loaded with chemicals and can give you an even skin tone. But those looking at getting shades lighter, well women…  this is not for you. I will say one can pick this up for some days when you just want something on your face but not coverage. The au natural days J
