Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm Vivacious - Review, Swatches, LOTD & FOTD

Heya my lovelies,

How are your days going? My three-day weekend was super awesome. Some friends who are journalists in Netherlands had come down to see election mood and I was touring extensively with them. For me, who’s been a journalist for the longest time of her career, this was so much fun.
Those who are connected to me on Instagram saw my bare faced, tanned pix as well.

I have a weird tendency I think ;-)
I always wait for a few weeks with reviews and stuff before I try a new product. I know that I should immediately jump and try one out, but then I think that it’s best I wait and then, buy and try the product.
So when Revlon launched their matte and lacquer balms, I decided to go slow. Since I had already seen the swatches and made up my mind roughly on which ones I may buy, I was happy to wait. Finally, I made up my mind and bought not just one, but two lovely balms. And I got them on a day when I was super tanned.
So I felt that the colour I choose should be a one which does not make me look even duller. Presenting to you my lovelies,
the Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm in Vivacious :-)
Raise the toast for this one…

Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm Vivacious

Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm Vivacious

Price :
Rs: 800 for a quantity of 2.7gms (ouch! You pinched me here Revlon L )

On the outside :
The Revlon Lacquer Balms are housed in a glossy metallic lip crayon packaging, which has a plastic secure cap. Each shade has a color coded body, which makes it easy to identify. These are twist up crayons, which means no sharpening and hence, no wastage J (CLAPS FOR THIS).

On the inside :

The texture of these lacquer balms is very creamy and smooth. Infact, they glide like a dream. I always prefer using a matte lip pencil and then filling these in as they can bleed. They are super comfortable on the lips and are not heavy or drying. The lovely satin finish is not overtly glossy and good for daytime summer wear too.
The shade ‘Vivacious’ is a bright pink with a red undertone and warm backtone. It does not contain any shimmer which makes it apt for daytime. The colour would look awesome on fair beauties, but even medium and dusky beauties can rock it. It’s perfectly pretty (love this term J ) for the summers. It has a good staying power of around 4 hours after which it leaves a prettily pink stain.

Now the ‘Thumbs Up for’ and ‘Thumbs down for’ :

Thumbs Up for  :
-     Bright pink colour that every skin tone can rock.
-     Awesome texture with great pigmentation that works in a single swipe.
-     Does not highlight fine lines.
-     Has a good staying power.
-     Very classy and adorable packaging.

Thumbs down for :

-     It’s really pricey for a drugstore brand (Please listen to this Revlon. The blogsphere is shouting this.)
-     Some of the shades tend to bleed if a matte lip pencil is not used.

This is how it looks on me. I haven't worn it full blown.

PEL Shouts
I simply loved these lacquer balms as they are both good for summers and winters. I just feel the price is a little steep and anything under Rs 600 would have been great. But they are indeed a great pick.

PEL Rating
4.5 out of 5
