Lakme Eyeconic Eyeliner pencil - Review, swatch, EOTD
Hi My lovelies....
How are you all doin today? Well, I am really sorry for being MIA but lot of personal and professional work had taken a toll and somehow, my writing took a back seat. So many new reviews, my first ever Eye makeup tute, the first ever Giveaway.... all kept being pushed back...
But now I am back and stay tuned for a lot of exciting new posts and lot of giveaways on the blog.
Ever since I started using eye liners (and not my staple kajal), I have been fascinated by coloured liners. From liquid to pencil to gel (even MAC fluidlines), I have tried em all. Somehow, I feel that just a stroke of these eyeliners and a tinted lip balm on my face, and I am ready to face the world. During my stint as a TV journo, these coloured liners had become my everyday go-to products to look prim even at 4 a.m. ... ((((yawn)))
After enjoying my stint with metallic colours (I still have a few of them), my new found fascination is matte eye liners. And As I started searching for some, bang came Lakme with the new eyeconic eyeliner pencil shades. Each of them is a lovely matte with good pigmentation and good price tag. So when my favourite Faces solid brown eye pencil came to an end, I decided to try the new eyeconic. Presenting to you ladies and gentleman, the Lakme Eyeconic Kajal in Brown... ((((clap clap clap)))) ....
Price : Rs 250 for 0.35 gms.

What company claims : 10 Hr stay. No mudging. Waterproof. Dermatologically tested.
What company claims : 10 Hr stay. No mudging. Waterproof. Dermatologically tested.
Packaging : The regular black Lakme eyeconic pencils, retractable but no colour coding. Same blue band that says about the colour. Lakme... please atleast put a colour coded band for those who use almost all your fab colours :)
The twist up pencil is very good and if you take out a little extra, you can always retract it back which is good. Does not require sharpening so it's better you do not share it at all.
Brown is one of my favourite colours for those days when I want to look natural and yet, emphasize my eyes. Which means almost everyday. Infact, this is the most reached out colour after black in my stack. The colour is a lovely chocolate brown which would show up in a single swipe for fair and medium toned beauties. For my dusky lovelies, they may need a concealor on the lids to even on colour and then too, it would be too light to show up.
The texture of the eye pencil is quite creamy. Just like the eyeconic black. It does not tug the eyelids at all, but isn't too creamy to break either. The colour pigmentation is also good and it looks a subtle black.
Now for the staying power..... On my oily lids, this stays for about 7 hours.... Yes, not 10 hours as they claim and not 10-hour like my faces pencil did. But After 7 hours, it tends to fade. However, even 7 hours is impressive. And it does not transfer to my lower lid. So that is indeed impressive...
Now a good news. This is the only brown eyepencil which I have used so far that shows on my waterline too. Yes, gives a subtle colour thus making my eyes look natural yet polished. However, there it stays for just 3 to 3.5 hours. Still, showing on my watery waterline.... I am super impressed Lakme... A Full Salute to you Lakme for the same and I am sold... :-)
Here is the swatch :
Such lovely pigmentation in a single swipe.... I'm loving it ;-)
And here is the EOTD, with the kajal on both lids and waterline....
Overall, I would rate this kajal a 4.5 out of 5 on the PEL scale. Would have loved a colour coded packaging.... but then, I am just getting a little greedy ladies... Ok... it's a 4.85 out of 5 now...
