CHAMBOR VELVETTE TOUCH LIP LINER PENCIL in PK 13 - review, swatch and LOTD

By Tarry.....

Hey lovelies...

First of all, let me wish you all a very wonderful and fulfilling 2014.... I hope all of you reading this find the best blessings on your doorstep and have a blast this year.

My last week of 2013 was really bad. I had a very bad cold and throat congestion. But as the year passed and we entered 2014, I became a lot better. Hence here I am, with my first ever post of 2014.

What could have been better to start off the year than a lipcolour post. Lipcolours, be it pencils or lipsticks, were a love I found in 2013 in a big way. So I would love to enter and also, take my baby PEL into 2014 with a superb colour, which is so apt for winters and is a close dupe of a MAC lipstick.

Here I am with the review of my first ever lip pencil buy from Chambor, the beautiful CHAMBOR VELVETTE TOUCH LIP LINER PENCIL in PK 13

Price : Rs 395 for 1.14 gms (A little steep, but the quality makes up for it)

What the brand claims : Velvette Touch Lip Pencils are designed for enhancing your lips by defining, lining & filling up the lips perfectly. These pencils are extremely smooth, non-drying & long wearing (lasts almost for 4 hrs). The pencil is waterproof & gives full colour coverage, which ensures that the lipstick stays in place for extended hours. It resists bleeding & feathering.
As an additional benefit it contains conditioning additives such as vitamin E, Carnauba and Candellila which moisturize and protect the lips. For the most natural look, make sure the tip is softly rounded. Keep your strokes soft with no sharp edges. For best result apply the Velvette Touch Lip Liner after Lipstick, or before Lip Gloss. Available in a wide selection of 8 colours that compliment well with Silk Touch Lipsticks & Glitzy lip-gloss shades. Dermatologically Approved & the product has"No Animal Ingredients"
8 Lip Smacking Shades available in Browns, Pinks & Reds

Interestingly, all brown shades are numbered as BR, the Pinks as PK and the Reds as RD. I picked shade PK 13 which is the darkest of the range.

Packaging : wooden sharpenable pencils, with the body colour same as the lippencil shade. Clear Plastic lovely cap fitting perfectly, a clear plastic top wrap. Lettering in silver, making it really classy. These pencils are made in Germany but have a strange reference number ???? :-P

Texture : Lovely creamy texture that glides smoothly on the lips. Not too smooth to be wasted while sharpening. Gives intense colour in just one swipe. Filling the lips is quite easy and the finish is matte.

I got this one from Shoppers Stop. Ever since I saw the review of MAC dark side on an international blog, I had been lusting after it. However, since MAC is not available in my city, I was just waiting to get my hands on something similar. One of my friends has a MAC dark side and I tagged her along to Shoppers to find something similar. After searching through almost a dozen different brands, I finally found a close dupe in this Chambor velvet touch lipliner.

I have been loving this one since the day I got it. I often wear it as a lipcolour completely filling my lips with it and also, use it underneath my Colorbar matte lipstick in dark plum. The colour is a beautiful wine toned maroon, which looks awesome on all complexions.

Here is a swatch of the colour.

See, isn't it damn intense. Since it's matte, lip balm and exfoliation are a must before using it as a complete colour. It stays for a good 5 hours with a good meal, snacks and drinks but after 4 hours itself, it starts fading from the middle of the lips rather unevenly. Hence, needs a bit of touchup. That is the biggest con with this colour, which otherwise seems so perfect :-(

And here comes the much awaited LOTD ladies... don't get scared...

Overall, I find this a lovely dark colour for winters and on the PEL scale, would give it a 4.5 out of 5. Have deducted .5 for uneven fading.

Have you tried the CHAMBOR VELVETTE TOUCH LIP LINER PENCILS ? Which is your favourite shade? Do share you views and please leave in comments because it really encourages me and makes me superhappy  :-D
