Getting ready for festival : The traditional Bengali look for Shubho Pujo

#Guest Post

Hi my lovelies...
So officially, the festival season has begun. Navratris, Durga Puja, Diwali, ... wow! the season has just begun. So much to dress up, so much to look good.... and so much to decide.
I too was having a tough time when I decided to do series of look posts for the festival season. I wanted the series to start off with a Durga Puja special, but somehow, whenever I thought of doing a traditional look, I always wanted a traditional beautiful Bengali face, with large expressive eyes, to do complete justice to the look.
And that's when I approached a beautiful and a wonderful blogger
Agnibanya Das Poddar of lovethyred.com .
She readily agreed to do this wonderful Durga Puja look for me... And here it is... :-)

From Agnibanya :-)

"The look that I created today is something that I think many Bengali women would like to sport during the morning aarti during the few days of the Puja celebrations.

For this look, I really wanted to keep it very traditional, hence the dhakai saree with a simple red blouse and some gold accessories, earrings, neckpiece and lightweight bangles, completed with a round red bindi, and a lot of emphasis on eyes.

Took a chance and used a darker shade of lip color instead of a
red or neutral which according to norms would have been more apt, but like you know, I always take chances with makeup, hence just went ahead with it..

Here’s the makeup Breakdown

Kryolan Dermacolor Camouflage palette to conceal
