Food lovers new destination in Lucknow, Martini Lounge & Fine Dine

By Tarry

Hello Lovelies….

Can you smell ‘Holi’ in the air? The weather is so ‘Holi’ types na…. slightly dry, cooler in mornings and evening and hot during the day. With the festival just round the corner, everyone must have surely become super busy in the preparations. And since the festival is giving an extended, time for loads of gatherings with friends and family.
And amidst these gatherings, there would be times when you would like to go out and have a nice dinner or lunch, right! By now, you all must be aware of the fact that I love food… and I love experimenting and trying out new stuff. So recently, when a food destination opened up in Lucknow, how could your dear friend leave it out?
Martini Lounge & Fine Dine, the new food lover’s address, is situated in Aliganj area of Lucknow. And finding it isn’t too much of a pain, since it is situated right above Kareems. The Lounge is situated on two floors, with the terrace floor providing open seating, and for those who love dim lights and cosy seating, there is the second floor. Me and bestie, with our equipment (paper, pen, camera and ofcourse, overactive taste buds  ) decided to decode the place.

The location is definitely a plus for this place. Although parking may be a little tough, but since it is well on a commutable road, you can always opt for a cab to reach here too. The ambience is beautiful, with the terrace being a good option for winters and monsoons, while the indoor area good for all seasons. Dim lights, typical of a lounge, are characteristics of Martini.

Coming to the food now. The menu boasts of a heady mix of North Indian, Mughlai, Chinese and Continental. Since it is a lounge, Martini also offers a host of cocktails and mocktails. Since we were on a day when an internal function was on, we could not check out much variety.

Nonetheless, our chosen platter was good enough. We started off with Rasberry Mojito and Blue Hawain, two mocktails. While the Mojito was tangy and refreshing, I loved the Blue Hawain which is a heady mix of Pina Colada, Coconut Milk and Blue Curacao Syrup. Must try.

Our food choice was quite basic. We started with Veg Momos (Dimshums). Must say that Momos have become a new age food for Lucknowites. And these one were perfect. Crispy veggies in steamed momos… cooked to perfection.

Next was Chicken Tikka Punjabi. The portions were quite big, but the chicken was well cooked, juicy and a perfect accompaniment for both cocktails and mocktails.

For main course, we chose Dal Tadka with Butter Naan and Veg Biryani. The Dal Tadka was good and the naan, soft. The Veg Biryani was indeed cooked like a biryani, and not pulao. Spicy, tasty and flavourful.

The meal ended with Fried Ice Cream. I am a little partial towards this dessert as it is one of my favorites. However, this isn’t the best one you can have in the city. Yet, a good dessert.
Meal for two would cost around INR 1000 plus taxes.
